Drafting
Before I could make the buck for the clay I had to draw the model in orthographic perspective and project the curves for the 5 sections.
Making the Buck
To make the buck I attached 2 sheets of MDF together with the side profile drawn on them. Then I cut it out, filed, and sanded it down smooth.
Preparing the Buck
Once the profiles were done I plotted them out and secured them in place. Then I could add the foam and begin covering it with the clay.
Side note * Due to Covid and working from home we had to create our own clay ovens and I had a lot of fun with that*
Modelling
After each profile was covered in clay it was time to have some fun. Using a variety of clay tools and my 5 section cutouts I carved each side down to match my concept drawing.
